Richland County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a public office. We cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, obtain an official record, or decide whether a booking photo may be released. Please use the responsible government office for an official answer.
Find the right official office
Richland County has no verified public jail roster, recent-bookings feed, or online booking-photo gallery as of September 1, 2026. Start with the channel that matches the question, and verify operational details with the office before visiting.
Richland County Sheriff’s Office and Jail
Address:
181 W Seminary St
Richland Center, WI 53581
Administrative and records line: 608-647-8906
Published administrative hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
24-hour jail and dispatch: 608-647-2106 or 800-544-2106
For a current status question, use the 24-hour jail/dispatch line or Wisconsin VINE County Jails. For an official booking record or a potentially releasable booking photograph, use the Sheriff’s Records Request Form, which includes a “Mug Shots” option. The form is the record route, not a promise that a record or image exists or will be released.
The County’s General Information page publishes these contacts. Under Wis. Stat. § 19.35, a records response is due as soon as practicable and without delay. Ask the custodian for the current fee estimate and any prepayment requirement because older material and the current schedule do not support a single promised fee.
Richland Clerk of Circuit Court
Address:
181 W Seminary
Richland Center, WI 53581
Phone: 608-647-3956
Published hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Use the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access (WCCA) service and the Clerk’s office for public court-file process and a case’s later progress. The Clerk does not provide a custody determination, and a court entry does not establish present jail status.
Wisconsin DOC custody and records
The Wisconsin DOC Locator is for people sentenced to and currently held in a DOC facility. It is not a Richland County Jail booking search. For a DOC record or profile-image request that is not shown in the locator, use the formal DOC public-records path.
How to frame a request
- For a current county-jail question, use dispatch or VINE, not a records request.
- For a past booking record or possible photograph, give the Sheriff a name, date of birth if known, relevant date, and case or incident details through the official form.
- For a later court outcome, search WCCA and contact the Clerk about public court-file process.
- For state-prison custody, use the WI DOC locator rather than treating it as a county booking source.
